Hello people~ I'm back :D

Back to blogging, I mean.
Anyway, I'll just update the recent events
There are way too many pictures of my HK trip.
Food ones especially more, for HK is a '买东西吃东西' city =P
Lazy to upload them here.

I know I'm stereotyping, but Hongkongers are such an uncultivated lot.
Sigh.

Brought Cai to try this fusion restaurant called 'Saizeriya'
I came to know about it from the variety show 小男人周记
Is it the correct title? If it's not don't correct me =P

Saizeriya is known for it's cheap prices.
Quality wise, it's pretty average.
Perfect for those who want to fill their stomachs without having to pay much.

Appetiser: Smoked duck breast $4.80

This was, surprisingly, a cold dish.
But it's still tasty, however.
It tastes like a chewier and meatier version of ham.

Seafood chowder $3-4+ (forgot)

It was bland and really watery, not something I would have expected from a chowder.
In other words, it sucked.

Hamburg steak $7.98

It's my first time eating a hamburg!
In case you didn't know..
A hamburg is made of minced meat, and it is basically the jap version of the beef/pork patty you get in burgers.

I found the price pretty reasonable for the portion given, 4 sides and a hamburg!
I liked the sweet corn, really sweet.. Quite 'duh' eh? lol.
Butbutbut.. Some places serve those hard and tasteless corn, which I hate!

Hamburg was pretty alright, though I got increasingly sick of it with every bite.

Doria with meat sauce $4.98

I asked Cai to order this cause it's the 人气王 in the menu
It's just baked rice with a lil meat sauce in it.
Pretty normal tasting, but it beats the ones in Swensens' anytime.
If you would like to know, Saizeriya is located at level 2 of Liang Court.

Went to Great world city next.

Island creamery =D

I had the Apple Crumble flavour.
The flavour was intense, it had chunky apple bits and the cookie base of apple crumbles in it, with a dash of cinnamon.
Yes, just like real apple crumble!
I enjoyed it a lot, esp the part of chewing onto the apple and cookie bits!

Cai had Cookies & Cream and Chendol flavour.
I liked the large oreo chunks in the Cookies & Cream.
Chendol, however, was a little bland.

Ended the makan outing with a 1A curry puff, my latest obssession! :D

Sunday, 26th April
Suddenly had craving for Indian food, so we decided to go to Al-Ameen for this week's makan outing!

Ordered cheese naan ($3), which is really like prata.

It's just a chewier version of it.
It was average, the smell of mozzarella cheese was not that strong.
The bad thing was that it was super oily. Eekz.

Butter Chicken ($7)

A little too salty for my liking, but I finished it all anyway.

Went to the nearby NTUC Finest to restock on spaghetti & pasta sauce.
I love to eat pasta, it's so easy to make!
Delicious too. Hehe.

Had our dinner at a Taiwanese eatery called '刘三阁'

I just had to order this Hazelnut praline cake.

I love anything with hazelnut inside!

Layers of goodness inside.
Chocolate, cream, hazelnut fudge, and a crunchy hazelnut chocolate base!

Zha Jiang Mian (Taiwan style)
The noodles were really Q, but they were pretty bland without the sauce.
It's really the black bean sauce that gives the dish flavour.

Braised tofu with peanuts.

Just normal cold braised tofu with peanuts drizzled in 卤汁, which I do not know what it's called in English.

Cabbed home after that, as I wanted to watch Star Awards!
Already missed it for 1.5 hrs, luckily I recorded it beforehand :D

Monday, 27th April

School officially reopened today :D
Was pretty excited about it initially, but the idea of it seems a little boring now =/
I like our new tutor for International Cross Cultural Studies.
Mukesh Kumar, he's one funny dude.

After sch, our Clique + Sonia went to Bishan to have Manhattan Fish Market.
Felt so bloated and lethargic after eating too full, so we went home.
Yawns. My eyes are half-closing as I'm typing this post.
Thank god I've come to the end of the post.. Byebyeee :D

Bon Voyage to myself

Currently @ the airport using free internet =P
Will be jetting off to Hongkong in an hour's time..
Bye people! Please miss me! =D

Seems like it's been some time since I cam-whored.. Heehee

Today is Cai's last day in Sg before he leaves for his BKK trip tomorrow.
Met him at Lot1 then we cabbed to Esplanade for dinner

Here we are.. at No Signboard Seafood.

I'm really big on teas.
Flower teas, chinese teas, english teas, every kind of tea is my cup of tea! =D

Stir-fried scallops with broccoli.
Love the big & juicy scallops.
The broccoli on the other hand, was disappointing, it wasn't soft and fragrant enough.
They could have added some sauce to it to give it more flavour.

Japanese style beancurd. Our favourite dish for the day.
The beancurd costs $4 per piece, but it's definitely worth every penny.

There are two kinds of tofu here.
Only difference was that one had mushrooms and the other had prawns.

This is the interior.
It's silky smooth and very flavourful.
The harmonious combination of the scallops, mushrooms, spring onions, and salted fish just screams OISHI!!!

Can you see the juice inside?
Gosh, I'm falling in love with it all over again.

An extra layer of egg beneath the beancurds.
It is EVEN SILKIER than tau hway.
But it's also very oily, if you noticed the oil blobs in the picture earlier on.

Ordered a medium Sri Lankan crab.
Cai originally wanted to order 2, thank goodness I stopped him.
This portion was already a lot!

I still prefer the Chilli crabs that my Ah Ma cooks.
Her chilli gravy is way creamier and flavourful, without being overly spicy.

The gravy here was slightly watered down and they definitely used too many eggs.
Despite it being very eggy, it still lacks the punch of flavour.
Probably didn't add enough ketchup.

And it sure was spicy!
Tears were already brimming in my eyes at my first piece.

Chilli crabs are not complete w/o these cute little fried mantous! =D

After dinner, we went to search for some desserts to fill our stomachs with..
and we came across this really cute art gallery filled with pictures of monks.

Super cute luh.
Monk you thought?

Wrong!
Read this.
"Bidha, 75 year-old nun"

Walked to Marina Square but could not find anything nice to eat.
So we ended up at Esplanade again.
Haagen Dazs, here we come =)

Was craving for ice cream with waffles..
Hence, we ordered a 3 scoop w/ waffles.

From left: Tiramisu, Choc Choc Chip and Summer Berries something (forgot)

We weren't expecting an outstanding piece of waffle, and certainly not one this tiny too.
And this miniscule piece of a waffle costs another $5.
Heck!

The ice cream was great. Choc choc chip outdid itself, as usual.
Tiramisu flavour was filled with pieces of soft cookies, was great too.
The berries-flavoured one had a tangy taste to it, contained real berries in it and tasted a little like jam.
We liked it anyway =)

He always shuns from my camera. Grr.

Trying to imitate a pose that we saw a monk doing.

A 3D piece
Move left and right and you can see 2 sides of the Joker.
Saw it at a really cool shop called 'Popcorn bites' at the Esplanade.
Cabbed home after that.
Ya, that's how the night ended.
I'm so tired after typing this post.
Time to sleep.. Good night! =D
