This year, we didn't celebrate father's & mother's day as my parents were busy.
Oh well. Went to watch Ghost of Girlfriends Past with Cai.
I think I'm really into self-discovery this days.
I've discovered several quirks about myself.
One would be my love for sneaking food into cinemas.
Weird, you may think. But it gives me that indescribable thrill when I know that i'm doing smth illegal.
This time it was Ramly burger, which imo is the best burger ever.
Let's get back to the movie. Main point.
I shan't disclose any of its content, you go watch it yourselves =)
Tuesday, 23rd Jun
Hokkaido Food Fair @ Isetan Scotts, with Cai again.
Went around to sample the food. Loved the fancy peanuts, cheesecake and potato croquette!
Dinner @ Sushi Tei
We started off with the assorted sashimi salad.
I'm currently on a sashimi craze.
The salmon definitely didn't disappoint. However, I didn't quite like the raw tuna, which seemed rather fishy. (pun intended)
Piping hot Umaki, my main purpose for coming here.
It's unagi wrapped in tamago, which sort of seals the deal for the whole thing for me, since these are my 2 favouritest items in jap food.
The dish didn't turn out far from what I had in mind, which means it's great.
Soft warm eggs dipped in sweet teriyaki sauce. My mouth waters just at their mention.
The deep fried prawn was great too. However, avocado isn't really my thing.
The thick gravy was great when slathered on rice.
The highlight of the meal would be their signature Golden Sands Crab, which is basically crabs fried with salted yolk batter.
The salted egg yolk fragrance was so addictive, we couldn't get enough of it.
We literally licked all the batter off the crab and still wanted more.
What a shiok dinner we had, we were totally lost in pleasure (oops, that sounded wrong) and was almost late for our movie!
Thank goodness we'd already booked tickets in advance, as it was a full house in the cinema.
Got cheesecake from Breadtalk and my fav soya bean milk from Mr Bean and rushed up to the cinema.
Fortunately, it was just about to start when we went in.
Before I start on the movie, I would like to recommend Breadtalk's jap light cheesecake to those who haven't already tried it.
It's my first time eating that, and I wished I had discovered its existence earlier.
I've been missing out on such a delicacy for so long!
Just like its name suggests, it's amazingly light and fluffy. It literally melts in your mouth, like bubbles!
It doesn't have the rich cheesecake taste which some people dislike, and it isn't too sweet either.
I'm so going to get the whole cake soon.
Don't understand why there isn't any Breadtalk in CCK or YewTee, where it's more convenient for me.
Back to the movie..
We watched Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen. Yes, one of the most highly-anticipated blockbusters of the year!
It definitely didn't disappoint, almost every scene was climaxy. (is there even such a word?)
My heart was pumping real fast throughout the movie, I'm serious.
My only gripe was that it wasn't as touching as its first installment.
But I found it to be good enough already.
As usual, we cabbed home after that.
Lastly, let's wish my makan kaki/RGDK/royal servant Ah Cai a very happy birthday!
Glad you enjoyed it =)
