Buffet Part I

Cai & I went to Shabuya for shabu shabu buffet!

Miso & shoyu broth

We ordered this several times
Salmon & swordfish sashimi
It was so fresh and nicely cut..

Kurobuta Pork Belly
Texture was chewy but taste-wise, average only.

Wagyu beef
Succulent, melts in your mouth premium beef

US Black Angus
Our favourite meat of the 4!
We ordered this so many times & still couldn't get enough of it

The 4th meat was actually Kurobuta Pork Ribeye, but I forgot to snap it.
So-so only la.

Vegetable platter

Seafood platter
The fishcake was very sweet and tasty!
It may seem simple but it was really addictive.

the prawns were really sweet too.
We kept asking for more of this platter.

Shabu shabu is never complete w/o goma sauce
The waitress had to keep refilling it!

This buffet is definitely worth a try if you're a meat lover like us
A you know such premium meat costs at least $20 per plate if you order it ala-carte
but now you can enjoy unlimited premium meat at only $29.90++!
Really, it's a steal.

Cedele's Blueberry Maple cake for dessert

I felt like I was eating pancakes with blueberry jam on it
It was decent though, but I guess I'm not a fan of maple syrup
I just don't like the taste of it

After our satisfying meal, we went to do fish spa at Kenko

There were 3 types of fish: Big, Medium, and Small
We tried the Big and Med ones
The big ones were really ticklish, we were giggling all the way
and they kept fighting to nibble at our feet. Hehe

Such a fun experience, we're going back again this week.

After the spa, we headed to Ritz Carlton hotel (do not misunderstand)
We initially wanted to check out a Jap restaurant in there, and we ventured deeper after that
And ended up having yet another buffet, this time at Greenhouse

See Part II above..

Saturday, 11th July
XWZ & I went to Iluma to meet Joanne for dinner
We were late for about 30 minutes.. Sorry Jo!
Vivian came to join us as well.
We went to this Jap restaurant for dinner (super long queue), recommended by Jo

It almost feels like an authentic Jap eatery

We used this device to place orders.
Oh, and it "talks" too!
Joanne helping us to order

My big plate of Ebi Fry Curry Rice
The scent of jap curry was sooo nice~
and I liked the crispy prawns

Joanne's yaki udon. Tried some of it, was quite nice.

Chocolate taiyaki, Jo absolutely loves this
XWZ's Ebi Fry Tamago don

Shared this Pan fried gyoza with spring onion with Jo
Not nice =/

I didn't really like this sake sashimi as it was sliced too thickly.
But it tasted alright.

Hehehe

Vivian & Joanne

After dinner we headed to Partyworld for K session!

Chocolate morocco
I prefer the one @ Orchard.
Chinatown's rendition is totally diabetes-inducing.

Shake shake shake!

My poor sandals
The waiter is going to shake his head when he sees this..
Haiz. Joanne ah!

Wednesday, 22nd July

Went to find RX after sch
I was late again.. Sorry!
I seem to be apologising very often.. lol
Went to check out Orchard Central
Well, there's nothing much as most of the shops weren't open yet

GHOST!!!! =O

Went to Heeren to have lunch
Jack's place
Onion soup
It was okay, I did not like the triangular things which tastes like bread inside.
It had a very artificial cheese taste
Grilled chicken in Thai sweet chilli and mango sauce
The mashed potato looks so cute huh.. Like ice cream!

RX's ribeye
I tried some, it's horrible =/
It doesn't even look like ribeye.
More like a burnt slab of meat
Mango cream cake
We were left with only this choice for dessert as the rest were sold out =(

Went to Ion @ Orchard next
There's so many new flagship stores from overseas.
And it's paradise for foodies like us, there's so many restaurants and cafes
They all looked so enticing.. We're gonna go back to try them all!
Also, we had a great time going around & sampling food from the many food stalls in Basement 4
Shiok shiok :D
Ion is Michelle's new favourite shopping mall :DDD

As usual, RX & I had endless stuff to talk about.
From the time we met until the time we went home, we were talking non-stop!
I think we can go take part in some talking contest if there's one.
Hehe ^^

Sunday, 12th July

Very late post! Last Sun Cai & I had wanted to try the Shabu shabu buffet @ Vivo
but due to the very inefficient receptionist, we were unable to. (shan't go into details)
My stomach was alr rumbling like mad, so we settled for HK Kim Gary since I haven't tried it before and Cai said it's not bad.

My favourite HK actor Bosco Wong =D

I had this Baked pasta in twin sauce with pork chop. ($11.90)
The twin sauce consists of half white cream corn sauce & minced beef sauce
This was so bad that I dunno where to begin.

Shall I mention about how dry it was?
how little beef sauce they gave me?
that the pork chop was as tough as rubber?
or that cheese tasted like chewing gum?

Cai had this thing which I forgot what it's called
HK cafes just love to confuse us with their super long dish titles

It's basically a mix of grills (ham and some other meat) baked with cheese and pineapple curry
Cai didn't seem to like it either

Yin-yong is a must-have when I was in HK
this tasted normal

Cai had this strawberry drink with nata de coco
I tried a little of it and found it too sweet for my liking

Headed to Raffles City shopping centre & had dessert @ Cedele

Mango Almond cake ($6.90)
This was not bad, the cake was moist and I liked the big slice of mango in the middle.

Orange chocolate cheesecake ($3.90)
gosh I hated this so much
The dark chocolate layer didn't quite blend with the cheesecake
The bitter orange taste was not what was expected, I thought it would be more tangy

Shopped around @ Raffles city and I forgot what I bought already
Had our dinner @ Siam Kitchen at Suntec

Shrimp paste kang kong

Mango salad

Grilled chicken satay in peanut gravy

Green curry with chicken

SK chicken wings, takoyaki, prawn cakes

Deep-fried you tiao, Thai spring roll & Thai fish cakes

Pineapple rice

Tom yum seafood soup

It was an ala-carte buffet & these are servings for each person
Food was so-so luh. I prefer Thai Express.

Shit. I forgot what happened after dinner..
So it's time to say goodbye!
