Eventful day

Hello everybody~~~
I'm in such a good mood today (as my tone suggests), but I'm so worn out!!!

Start of day:
Went to town for my monthly dental appt & Ivan came to find me after that.
Chilled at Coffee Club.

Ooo~ Savoury desserts; my favourite.

Mine ~Chocolate delice~

Chocolate mousse (valrhona, mind you) topped with dark choc fudge.
There's also vanilla ice cream & a honey biscuit.
I had a rather hard time deciding which to eat first, as there were so many things on the plate.
This is really really good. I highly recommended it for chocolate lovers.

Ivan's
This is nice too.
Sweet tasting white chocolate sorbet followed by a taste of tangy raspberry filling.

After that, we made our way down to Bugis to NLB.
(Is I accompany you HOR! hahaha.)
He could not find the books he wanted, so we headed to Tampines to find Derek immediately.

Had teppanyaki for dinner.
I ordered the tenderloin steak, which I kinda regretted.
The meagre portion of meat is not worth the price at all.
Nevertheless, it was juicy and tasty.

Hello there, Mr. Chef~
Enough meh????
The Tohs'

Post-dinner.
Just when we were racking our brains on where to go/what to do, Douglas called me & asked me to accompany him to watch 'The day the earth stood still'
I agreed, so we all headed down to Cck to meet up with him.

Had our supper at 302 first, then went for movie w/o Ivan & Derek.
Of course, not without buying my favourite Famous Amos cookies.
I think I'm addicted to it.
Thank Buddha Lot 1 has a newly opened Famous Amos branch.
FYI, I'm a Buddhist. So I figured 'Thank God' might not sound so appropriate.

Bro you look so cheeky here! =P

Tsk tsk..
This movie fell short of my expectations.
I thought it would be some kind of climaxy show, but NO!
At the start, it was pretty interesting, about the aliens' invasion and stuff..
It turned out that all along I was waiting for the climax which never came.

Actually, I didn't really pay attention to the later part of the show as I was really worried about a friend of mine.
Thank Buddha that he's safe.
Back to the topic. The ending of the movie was pretty abrupt.
Not recommended. Rating: 2.8/5

I find Keanu Reeves kinda hot.
He looks.. beautiful. I like his polished looks in this movie.

After the movie, I accompanied Bro to have supper and that's when we saw Wei Hao & Jasman.
We wanted to ask WH along for movie earlier, but he didn't pick up.
I guess it's fate that we should bump into each other.
Did a bit of catching up.
He's still the same old WH, crappy & irritating as ever! Hahaha. Jkjk!
Sorry luh, I always say wanna organise outing but in the end never =P
SOON, I promise!

Saw Wifey at the interchange too.
Took 307 with Doug then WH walked me home as I was too afraid of the dark.
Thanks!

Anyway, I'm really happy to have catched up with 4 old friends today =D

Aww. Clique outing tmr is postponed.. :(
I'll miss you ppl. A BIT. Hahaha!

Hi-Tea

Today is Family Day.
Had wanted to have Dim Sum @ Imperial Treasure
but it was full house up till 2pm.
Blame it on my forgetfulness. *hits head*
I should have made reservations the day before.

So I decided to go to the usual place, Crystal Jade, to eat instead.
However, my mum suggested to go to a place called 'Tang Garden'
Apparently she saw it in today's papers.
The advertisement for the new place called 'The Village' near Jurong Birdpark.

So here we are.

'Feng Zhua' & siew mai. Very average taste, or maybe a little below average.

Mango pancakes. As you can see it's just whipped cream and mango slices wrapped in some kind of crepe. Tastes okay.

Pan-fried water chestnut cakes.
A deviation from the usual steamed version, which I personally prefer the latter more.
It's sticky & sweet, and a little too oily.

Char siew cheong.
It's just so-so to me, though my brother says it's nice.
The 'cheong' is too thick and not consistent enough, which makes it rather hard to bite.
The char siew inside is rather chunky and dry, and it lacks the punch.
I like mine to be more 'wet' (Now, please be mature)

Crispy chicken.
This is my favourite dish today.
Its very soft and tender, the skin is extremely crispy as the name suggests.

Xiao long bao (soup dumplings)
The skin is very hard, and it requires much effort to 'break' it.
The broth inside is rather watery, I like it to be 'richer'.
Didn't really expect much from this place, so the disappointment was not so great.

K, the har gaos earned the 'Worst dish award' here.
The skin is impossibly thick and hard, I think I spent quite a few mins trying to bite it off.
And I spat it out after finally succeeding.
Hard and tasteless skin.

However, the prawns inside are generously served.
Big and chunky prawns with garlic pieces in them.
This is the first time I ate har gao w/o skin.

Some small-scaled magic show and my brother went up.

he is so adorable.

k, what is that pose for?

cute rabbit lady which looks like miffy, my last time favourite cartoon character.

Went to Causeway to shop for grocery shopping while my family bought their New year clothes.
Stocked up the tidbits at home :D

That's all for today.
I'm famished, zi char will be my dinner tonight.
Bye.

Friday, 12th Dec

Twilight @ AMK Hub with Clique.

This is really worth catching, Jessie said that she wants to watch it again.
The male lead is so hunky!!
He's every girls' dream. Totally gorgeous, dangerous, and MAN.
Rating: 4/5

After the movie we decided to go our separate ways as there was no where we could go.
So I headed to FEP alone, and walked around while waiting for Jo to knock off.
It was boring beyond words.

I walked alone, shopped alone, and ate alone......

So finally when she came at near 7pm, we went to Sweet Slice of life to try the 雪片冰
It's very popular in Taiwan.
I stole the pictures from the website as my hp's quality is too lousy.

I had First Date
FYI, it really looked like that in RL.
It tastes like ice cream, except that its shredded ice.
Flavourful and chewy, it doesn't melt immediately in your mouth..
That's what makes it special, I guess.
Worth trying!
& Jo had Hot Chick.
A little too sweet for my liking.

After eating, we went to walk around while waiting for Han Ming.
Walk until 10+, very tired alr.
So we decided to sit down somewhere and eat.
Chanced upon this eatery called 'Central Restaurant'
It's located at Ngee Ann City, beside the food stalls area.
Funny, why haven't we noticed it before?

I regretted eating so much junk food just now.
Should not have let the tantalising smell of Famous Amos tempt me, as well as Tori-Q!
My stomach was alr 70% full when we saw this cafe.
So we decided to order appetisers instead.
I really wanted to try the main courses =(

Thousand layer tofu with pork floss.

I love anything that has pork floss in it!!
We were quite shocked when we tasted this dish.
Had expected it to be served warm instead of cold.
But overall, the taste is quite unique.
Just imagine chilled silken tofu with pork floss...
Makes a great comfort food =)

Pan fried turnip cake served with XO sauce
The thing that irks me the most: Oiliness
The turnip was rather oily, but its skin was crispy, which makes up for it a little.
I only liked the soft and chewy texture of turnip.

Can't say much about this place, as I've only tried the appetisers.
Will update more on it!
But the near-full-house crowd should more or less tell you something about this place =)

Us sitting outside taka. Really, really, really bored as we had nothing to do.

So we decided to play pool to kill time.
We played from 11-1.30am.
Then I accompanied Jo to HK cafe to eat.
That's when Han Ming called us and said that he was going home.
Hai.. Sian!

We went home in the end.
Was too tired anyway.
